چکیده

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) grown by chemical vapor deposition retain the residual catalyst particles from which growth occurred, are considered a detriment to MWCNTs’ performance, especially electrical conductivity. The first direct measurements have been made of transport through cap into MWCNT using nanoscale 2-point-probe determine effects particle’s size and diameter ratio with its associated on as compared inherent conductivity MWCNT. is independent size, but (DC/DNT) determines conduction mechanism. Where DC/DNT greater than 1 resulting I–V curve near ohmic, (RC+NT) approaches that (RNT); however, when < curves shift rectifying RC+NT > RNT. experimental results discussed in relation current crowding at interface between nanotube due an increased electric field.

Heat Conduction of Single-walled Carbon Nanotube in Various Environments

Some of our recent studies on the heat conduction of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are reported. The length-dependence of pure SWNTs is investigated in a range of nanotube lengths up to 3.2μm. Non-equilibrium MD simulations were performed by minimizing the thermal boundary resistance between the thermally controlled layers and the rest of the n...

Size-dependent optical limiting behavior of multi-walled carbon nanotubes

The size-fractionation of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) in the dimethylformamide (DMF) solution of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) has been achieved by controlled sonication–centrifugation cycles. The Z-scan experiments and fluence-dependent transmission measurements with nanosecond laser pulses of 532 nm wavelength show that the optical limiting behavior of MWNTs in PVDF/DMF solution is...

Diffusive-Ballistic Heat Conduction along a Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube

The diffusive-ballistic heat conduction of finite-length single-walled carbon nanotubes has been studied by means of nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations. The length dependence of thermal conductivity [1] is quantified for a range of nanotube lengths up to 1.6 μm at room temperature. A gradual transition from nearly pure ballistic to diffusive-ballistic heat conduction was identified f...

The Effects of Functionalized Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube on Mechanical Properties of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube/Epoxy Composites

The mechanical properties of the multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/epoxy composites affected by carboxyl and amino functionalized MWCNT are investigated. Tensile tests of the specimens were carried out to obtain mechanical properties of MWCNT/epoxy composites for various weight-percents (wt %) of MWCNTs. In order to properly predict the mechanical properties of MWCNT reinforced epoxy composi...
